Marketing for technical founders

Do the marketing work in the order it should be done.

CouchToCustomers is a step-by-step program for software products, content sites and service businesses. Every step says exactly what to do and what done looks like. Work through it with your coding agent, a copied prompt, or by hand.

Free to use. Ordered, not gated. You decide when a step is done.

How a step works

A plain standard, three ways to meet it, and your review at the end.

Each step names the marketing job, the evidence that counts as finished, and why it matters for what comes next. Pick whichever way of doing the work suits you. Then review the result against the standard and mark it done yourself.

Connected agent

Pair Codex, Claude Code, or another MCP-capable coding agent once. Your agent reads the step, works in your repository, and saves the result back for you to review.

Copied prompt

Copy a prompt that already contains your project facts into any assistant, then paste the result into the step.

By hand

Fill in the form yourself. The guide beside it explains the work and the standard it has to meet.

The program

From the facts about your project to the pages and profiles that carry them.

Later steps read from earlier ones, so the order matters. You can still open any step when you have a reason to.

Who it is for

One program for three kinds of project.

Most of the work is the same whatever you run. Where it differs, the step changes its evidence and examples to match what your visitors actually do.

Software
Paid or free apps, developer tools and mobile apps. Measured by completed use, or by sign-ups when there is an account funnel.
Content and public utility
Directories, guides, data sites and publications. Measured by reach or by a completed action such as a search or download.
Services
Consultants, agencies and studios. Measured by qualified inquiries, bookings and proposal requests.

What to expect

Honest about what software can check.

  • You confirm each step. Nothing is marked as verified when it was not.
  • No streaks, badges or countdowns. Just the next piece of work and why it matters.
  • No promised numbers. The program covers the groundwork; the results depend on your project.
  • Your progress is saved to your account, so you can stop and pick up where you left off.

Identity, Branding, Project context, Analytics. The facts every later step reads from.
